Ultimate Windows sponsored Billingham Stars

It is with great sadness that tonight Ultimate Windows-sponsored Billingham Stars must announce that popular defenseman Andy Munroe will not be returning for the upcoming season.

A rare but fantastic goal from Munroe A rare but fantastic goal from Munroe
Munroe, a Star for the past three seasons after joining from Bracknell Bees in the summer of 2013, has had a change in his personal circumstances that will require him to move even further south than his current base in West Yorkshire. Munroe's departure will certainly be a blow to Billingham as his calming influence at the back whilst wearing the Assistant Captain's jersey won him many fans amongst the Forum faithful. Never one to score too many, Munroe will instead be missed as a hard-to-beat d-man with a cool head, one of the best in NIHL North.

Munroe is gutted to be leaving the Stars family:
"After having initially agreed a return to the Stars this coming season, I was offered a job that I couldn't turn down in Peterborough, meaning my family and I will be moving there and preventing me playing for the Stars. I haven't yet made a decision as to if I will continue to play or not. I want to thank everyone at Billingham for making me feel so welcome at the Forum - whilst I won't miss the post-midnight drives home down the A19 I have enjoyed every minute in a Stars shirt. Thanks to Al Flavell, Bomber and the backroom team, and especially the lads in the dressing room whose banter and mickey-taking is always hilarious (more so when not aimed at me) and who have made this such an enjoyable experience. And to the fans that cheer us on each week and give us the reason to give up our time to commit to the game we all love, thank you. Carol summed it up nicely
(when contacted),
'hopefully this is a see you later and not a farewell'."          Munzy #8

Everyone at the Stars wishes Andy, Caroline and the cutest kids ever (Felicity, Joel and Neve) all the very best with their move - hopefully we will see them at the Forum or at an away game, and perhaps one day Munzy in a Stars shirt once again.
